GHN was founded in October of 1999 by Azadeh Farahmand while she was providing business process improvement, productivity, redesign, and information technology consulting to the payer and provider community. During this process, she realized that existing healthcare electronic transactions services were not effectively addressing claims and revenue cycle and that many of these services were essentially facsimile-based with no added value. These poorly designed and executed services were creating a whole new host of issues for their users, including an increase in the providers days sales outstanding. In the following years, GHN developed the functional and technical design for the suite of services that are the backbone of the company today. The services were designed to improve claims submission, processing and remittance accuracy, resulting in an increase in cash flow for the healthcare provider and a decrease in time spent problem solving for both the payer and provider. By the fourth quarter of 1999, GHN became a fully operational online company supporting brand name clients. In 2000, the Company began doing business as GHN-Online.
